A new website called picaspot.com helps travelers and photographers find the best spots to take pictures. Users post a picture and then share detailed information about the spot where it was taken. They can also vote and rank all postings to help create a list of the top photo spots in the world.

“The main value offered by our website is information about the exact location where a picture was taken,” said co founder Juan Jose Reyes. Users post a picture of the location along with the information to give users an idea of all the possibilities available to create a great shot. “Our intention is to create a free resource where photography enthusiasts of all levels can learn all about a location before they go,” said Reyes, an avid photographer himself. “Many times there is just not enough time to walk around for hours looking for a good photo spot. That’s when picaspot can be useful,” he added. It can be used by the amateur photographer going on a trip or by advanced photographers to find locations that are best for professional photo shoots, such as weddings, model or commercial photography. People can share their favorite street corners, an original angle to photograph a famous landmark or a little known park outside the touristy areas. The purpose is to take great photographs.

The site has GPS maps generated when a file contains those coordinates to help find the location but the main idea is to have users tell about the photo spot as if they were telling all the details to a friend.

The City of Nashville has converted the city to All the Country Music Stars and Fans walking the street.  Great Music, Great Food and Great Photo Opportunities.  Here are some tips on taking care of your camera and your pictures during the extreme heat and humidity.

Digital Cameras DO NOT like extreme heat or water.  The next four days are going to be hot and humid.  Here are some tips for making your trip and enjoyable one.  While making sure your memories of this event is captured.

1. Make sure you have a decent camera bag.   Your camera bag will be the best investment for the heat.  Going to a humid atmosphere, put a desiccants moisture control in your bag.   When your not taking pictures put your camera back in its bag.
2. Carry a Ziploc baggy with you.  Going through cool centers with light mist just put your camera in the baggy and go through the ceter.
3. A light color towel to put over your camera when your not capturing the moment.  The towel will keep the camera from the direct sunlight.  Do not use a dark color because it draws the heat.
4. A UV filter to filter out the direct sunlight.
5. DO NOT leave your camera in a hot car.   Take your camera with you.
6. DO NOT let the camera set in the blazing sun.  Your camera could overheat.

Here are some summer photography tips to make the best out of those summer photos.

When traveling we often use the light that is available to us. Such as sun, fog, clouds and the rain.

When at the beach:  Bright sunlight always casts hard shadows around the eyes and under the chin.   A diffuser on your flash will help minimize your shadows.   It is a perfect addition to your camera collection.

In a Big City:  A foggy or rainy day will not dampen your picture taking.   A cloudy day in a city landscape will bring out stark contrast.   A filter can help you with this.

Water Shots:  Early morning(1 hour after sunrise) or late evening (1 hour before sunset) is a perfect time for photographing reflections.  Water is more reflective when the sun is low.
